First Contract for Dulles Rail Set
The Virginia Dept. of Rail and Public Transportation has
negotiated a $1.6B design-build contract for the first part of the
Dulles Corridor Project, and it includes the tunnel under Tyson's Corner. This is just one step in the process for getting the rail link built, but it at least means that the DRPT now has some control over the price of the project, expected to be in the $2.5B range for the extension to Tyson's Corner.

Are you sure that this is the same tunnel that tysonstunnel.org is advocating? Bechtel's original plan involves some tunneling of its own.
I'm pretty sure Tysonstunnel.org is advocating put the whole thing underground, or at least most of it. The current plan is for only a small part of the line around Tyson's corner mall to be underground. Bad planning if you ask me; although an above ground line will save money in the short term it will only stunt development along the line and hurt the area in the long run
