regional rail has only been in service since July, but that hasn't stopped them from
. Service to Santa Fe is planned. The double level cars it uses are the same ones that CalTrain, Altamont Commuter Express, and probably a bunch of other rail systems (not in the Northeast) use.

I had no idea NM installed regional rail. That's a nice paint scheme.
They have a nice website, too.
Metra's site has been in sore need of a makeover for so many years.
The same cars are also used by Toronto, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Now that we have so many commuter rail systems, they are all able to benefit from the economics of off-the-shelf equipment. (The locomotives used in NM are also used in Chicago and San Francisco.) The eastern lines, though, have more restrictive clearances and can't run these double-deck cars.
The same cars are used on the Virginia Railway Express into Washington, DC.
NJ Transit and one of the MTA systems (either LIRR or Metro-North) both have double-decker cars now.
Boston 'Commuter Rail' also has double decker cars, but they are made by Kawasaki.
