Looking to save cash? Charge it...

In what is probably the smartest use of a cash back credit card ever, Port St. Lucie, Florida, is using credit cards to build a highway interchange with plastic, charging approximately $24 million over two years -- and netting the city $125,000 in cash back awards.

What about a credit card citizens can get, with kickbacks to transportation projects? There are already cards out there like this for the Democratic Party and for local school fundraising.

I could have my Metro Visa Card with $20 of every $1000 i rack up on it, going to the WMATA

Nice idea. WMATA does have a credit card available from Citibank, but I'm not sure if any of the money ends up back in WMATAs hands.
