We're safe?

The mayor and various officials have decided to call off the high alert on the New York City subway system. Maybe they got tired of various federal agencies trying to undercut their pronouncements. Personally, given judicious use and some justification, I'd rather have the alert called. Information is good - it is better to know than not know.

The Wilshire Blvd extension should happen as planned. People don't realize what a value the rail can be on that main route. UNDERground. Right now it's hard to see, but in 50-60 years, all of LA will look like NYC, with brownfill development and highrise, urban density. at that time, Wilshire will be LA's midtown, and if that neighborhood doesn't jump on board, it will find itself isolated from the subway network. The light rail is a bad idea. The subway should serve people where they go. it seems foolish to reroute things. Wilshire is the cooridoor of choice.
