Calling DC Railfans
The Smithsonian is running a rail-inspired event on Wednesday, November 2nd, called Dining by Rail: A Soot-to-Souffle Journey. The event involves a presentation of the evolution of rail-cuisine by author James D. Porterfield and dining on authentic rail fare prepared by guest chef Warren C. McLeod. I, unfortunately, won't be able to attend, but would love to hear reports from anyone who goes. More details are available on the Smithsonian website.

I'd like to try the french fry with sauteed police beatdown.
I participated in the Rail oriented event, and I must state undeniably, that the food was fantastic. It was a pleasure to meet and listen to Chef Warren C. McLeod. He is funny, enthusiastic, articulate and well informed. We all laughed at his anicdotes and life's stories about rail life in general. Please keep me posted of any future events in which Chef McLeod is a participant. Thank you very much for the space to share.
I believe Chef's McLeod's mother is a gracious submitter.
