Cameras and scanners, oh my!

More details today on the MTA's $200 million security contract with Lockheed Martin Transportation & Security. Lots of cameras and computers. How much more truly secure it will make the system is an open question.

Perhaps the cameras are more for prosecution and racial profiling than for actual prevention. It sure helped the British police to have pictures of the perps right after the crime. Not sure that seeing them go in was all that preventative.
