WMATA chat tomorrow

Sign up now to participate in Metro's online chat tomorrow. CEO Richard White and board Chairman Dana Kauffman will be available to answer questions. Watch me ask why they're using valuable labor hours to distribute leaflets in an effort to rebut negative Washington Post coverage. I'll see if they answer my question...

Even if they don't respond (to be fair, this is a rhetorical question) at least they'll be made aware that I feel this way about these letters. I know I'm not alone on this one.

Is the WP series fair criticism of Metro or transit-bashing?

Is the Washington Post as critical of highway expansion in the D.C. area?

In Minneapolis, we're used to a lot of transit-bashing from the PRTers and pro-highway right-wingers so maybe I'm more suspicious.

A little of both.

Metro spent countless labor hours by positioning employees in every station, handing out those response pamphlets. Metro then suffers a major delay on the Red Line, delays coming up the Blue/Orange lines, and I wonder if they could have been prevented with better employee response. Or, were all the available hands too busy passing out flyers?
