Too Tall for Transit?

An article on CNN.com notes that many tall people have trouble travelling. Apparently. mass transit is not designed for tall people. Everard Strong, the California publisher of TALL Magazine, apparently can't even stand up straight when on the train, says CNN:

His troubles even extend to public transit. If he does not get a seat he can't stand up straight when using the San Francisco area's BART rapid transit system, he says.

It's a good thing he's not in London - even 6'0" me can't stand up in the doorway of a tube train.

I think it is pretty easy to generalize that--many enclosed spaces for people--from cars to planes to Frank Lloyd Wright houses--can be a problem if you are very tall. I imagine being very fat is a problem too.

I smash my head getting off the (MBTA) Green Line or busses unless I put my hand above me to guide my ducking. Hurts like hell when I forget.

Not nearly as bad as the "regional jets" where I can't stand up in the aisle. I'm 6'4", so at least I still fit on a queen bed.

Heck, I can't stand in the seats on those regional jets, and I'm 5'6".

In response to Sams comment on Tall people and Fat people. There is a little problem with your argument there Sam. You are talking about Banannas and apples, even though they can be classified under the same category they are still two completely different fruits.

I'm tall, I didn't ask for this but here it is and gastric bypass surgury won't make me shrink enough so I can buy clothes in a store or shop for a coupe.
