Free speech on subway ads
Big hearing next week on whether free speech extends underground. Basically, as mentioned in DCSOB, our sister blog, the question is whether Metro can sell ad space to a nonprofit that advocates changing a law Republicans like (namely marijuana prohibition).
Not advocating breaking a law, but changing it.
Speaking of marijuana prohibition, ¡Felíz cuatro veinte!

To be fair, lots of Democrats like the law, too. But it's actually an interesting hearing, as the argument has always been that commercial "speech" is not protected under the first amendment. But does political activism qualify as commerical or private speech?
